Born and raised in London, MTV EMA and BRIT Award nominee Jonas Blue has taken the music industry by storm. His perfectly crafted pop/dance hits have been some of the biggest in both streaming and on the radio, helping to position Jonas as one of the key artists poised for continued worldwide success into 2017 and beyond.
His debut single ‘Fast Car’ featured the incredible vocal talents of Dakota and quickly became a certified global smash. ‘Fast Car’ has sold over 6 million records worldwide and was the biggest selling single globally in 2016 from a debut British artist. The single reached #2 in the UK charts and spent 11 consecutive weeks in the Top 10. Elsewhere, the track peaked at #1 on the iTunes chart in several countries including the UK, Germany, Sweden and Australia also received multi-platinum, platinum and gold status in numerous countries around the world.
Jonas’ second single, ‘Perfect Strangers’ featured the sublime vocals of JP Cooper. The summer smash peaked at #2 on the UK Official Singles Chart, spent 10 weeks in the UK top 10 and has so far reached global sales of over 3 million. Like ‘Fast Car’, ‘Perfect Strangers’ has received multiple sales certifications around the world.
For his latest single ‘By Your Side’, Jonas recruited rising London vocalist RAYE (who has since gone on to come top 3 in the BBC Sound of 2017 Poll). Still a mainstay in the UK Official Singles Chart, ‘By Your Side’ has amassed over 100 million combined streams and is now certified silver in the UK.
As well as working on his own music, Jonas has remixed tracks for the likes of Ellie Goulding and Birdy. Along with this, Jonas has been touring relentlessly, playing live to over a million people last year. Jonas made his mark at several illustrious festivals including Lollapalooza Berlin, Tomorrowland and V Festival. Jonas also had a coveted residency at Ushuaia Ibiza, where he opened for David Guetta.
With his music making an impact overseas, the British hitmaker has played a string of successful shows across North America and Brazil. Closer to home, he also appeared on The Xtra Factor, played a very special BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge performance last summer and shared the stage with collaborators Dakota, JP Cooper and RAYE at Capital FM’s Jingle Bell Ball.
In 2016, Jonas sold more singles globally than any other debut British artist. Jonas was streamed over 1 billion times and sold more singles in the UK than the likes of Clean Bandit, Ellie Goulding, Olly Murs and Zayn Malik. Elsewhere, Jonas received a ‘Best Push’ nomination at last year’s MTV European Music Awards and has been nominated for 2 BRIT awards (‘British Single’ and ‘British Artist Video of The Year’) launching into 2017 in a spectacular fashion.
